WILLCOX BASIN VOTERS WERE DECEIVED ABOUT THE IMPACT OF AN AMA ON DOMESTIC WELLS

Voters were misled in 2022 by deceptive statements that made no distinction between Exempt versus Non-Exempt wells in regards to expanding water use, metering, and fees.  The mailer below was delivered to all postal addresses in the basin and was paid for by RWA – the PAC that led the local opposition to the AMA.

The three highlighted items below appear to deliberately imply that domestic well users would be impacted by an AMA when, in fact, these three items only apply to large irrigation wells pumping more than 35 gallons per minute.  Many Willcox Basin residents have told us that they  voted NO in 2022 based on these false statements and have reconsidered their support for an AMA now that they know the facts and that there has been no progress to protect the basin in the two years since the election.
